EXPEDITION TO ALBERT PARK

Hi, Milo & Jet here! Today has been a very exciting day as we went on an adventure to Albert Park Lake in the city. We woke early this morning to find that Ros had already grabbed our leads and our doggie drink bottle so we knew we were about to go on an exciting adventure together.  Well everything was packed into the car. We jumped in and headed off.  A while later we arrived and this was the view that greeted us from the car park.
Here we are surveying the view and also deciding which way to go. That was a very tough choice. Eventually we decided to go to the right so we headed off but not before the start walk photo.
These are some photos from along the trail just so you can all see what a nice walk it was.  There was additional excitement in all the water birds that were living on the lake.
We had been walking for a little while when we came across the most interesting smell.  Of course, we had to investigate at once.  Then we decided it was time for a family photo.
Don't we look pawesome together?!! Then as we kept on going Jet was suddenly extremely sidetracked by these cute little feathery fellows that were enjoying a nice swim in the water. They're called Eurasian Coot.
In fact Jet found them so interesting that I think if we had been off lead he probably would have joined them for a swim.  Then up ahead there was a slight traffic jam as there were over one hundred coots crossing the road.  We wondered if that was the coot crossing area as they came from all different  areas to cross just there.
Once the coot crossing was again clear we continued on along the path until Ros found a suitable area for us fur brothers to pose together.
Don't we look so very handsome? Well after photos we continued on when some more local birdlife caught Jet's attention. This time it was a black swan. It was very brave and it even swam over towards us.

After saying hello to mister swan we continued on until we came across a huge fig tree and we thought it would be a perfect place for a family photo.
We soon continued on but we didn't get very far before we ran into a very cute French Bulldog called Bruce.
Bruce soon continued on his way and we continued on with our walk as well but we didn't get very far when we ran into a cute beagle doggie called Bonnie.
Once we said good-bye to Bonnie we decided another family photo was needed so we all got into place.
Then it was our turn to do some posing by ourselves.  Jet went first and then it was my turn to pose. We both look very handsome if  we say so ourselves!
Then we continued on with Ros stopping occasionally to take photos of the view and in some cases the local bird life that was present at the lake.
After all the sight seeing we decided it was time to start heading back toward the car as we had gone the whole way around and we were quite tired by this time. On the way back we found a mummy swan who was busy protecting her egg.  We also stopped for one last family photo.
Then once we made it back to the car after everything was packed away we jumped in and fell straight to sleep. The walk was five and half kilometres long which was quite a long way so we were quite happy to reach the car. We can't wait to come back one day soon for another adventure.  Bye from Milo & Jet.

  2. Fantastic adventure. We would have been after those coots. They need to be in the water...not blocking YOUR walk!

That's such a beautiful place...so much to see and SNIFF.

  3. Wow! That was quite a long walk. I'm glad you guys were on lead, because those birds need to be protected. I was there recently with a group and one of our members had his dog off-lead. The dog with us is not a bird chaser, though, so we had no problems.

  4. Oh thank you SO much for showing us your park and all the friends you met. What a beautiful place to visit and to live in. The black swan so close was very nice to see. Milo and Jet are so obedient, I guess they would have to be right. You are one LUCKY girl to have these special canines.
Your spring must feel so good. I always enjoy this season. We are heading into Fall on Sept 21, around that tine then the maple leaves will be brilliant red.
Again thanks for dropping by. We are in the middle of a huge rain storm right now. I hope we don't float away.

    Cheers Sophie and Ron
